Honasan in Jeddah for visit

JEDDAH—Senator Gringo Honasan arrived here Wednesday for a two-day personal visit.
Honasan arrived with his wife Jane and two companions last night on board a Singapore Airlines flight from Manila.

He was welcomed at the airport by Consul General Ezzedin Tago and the group of the Philippine Guardians Brotherhood Incorporated-Red Sea Chapter, headed by Melliardine “Mel” Gamet.

Honasan had an immediate message to the Filipinos working in the Kingdom: “Work hard so that you can continue to be the symbol of freedom and heroism. (As OFWs) you can set an example for our people back home who are living in poverty.”

Honasan is here as a guest of the PGBI-RSC for its 8th Foundation Anniversary rites, which continues through Thursday at the Ramada Hotel.

A native of Bulan, Sorsogon in the northern Philippines, Honasan is the current chairman and supremo of the PGBI, which has more than 1.5 million members worldwide.
The group Bag-ong Bicol Saro nin Jeddah headed by Danny Londonio is also hosting a reception to welcome the senator.
